The Wágnerka Restaurant at Střekov Castle in Ústí nad Labem city is located in the lower part of the city, on the banks of the Elbe river as part of the Střekov Castle's panoramic terraces, long known as Schreckenstein, which is considered to be one of the most interesting Gothic castles known today.

Hans Christian Andersen a Wagnerka Restaurant

During one of his trips to Czechia, Andersen draws Strekov (Schreckenstein) Castle and mentions the castle within his precious travel diary.

On his way - while sailing by steamer Bohemia to Ústí city he noticed more of public noise caused by the steamer's arrival than the castle ruins itself. Steamer boat Bohemia was still a small sensation at the time of the Andersen's voyage. Andersen traveled the Elbe a month after the first voyage of Bohemia steamer. He dated his experiences in a diary on June 28, 1841 quote:

"In town of Roudnice we saw its` `people``, thus the viscera of the town, in barges and boats that wanted to see us. I soon became a peculiarity of the steamer boat! On the steep rock towered Strekov castle, formerly a fortress. People stood everywhere by the windows and in the openings in the walls, a flags were hoisted, handkerchiefs waving and volleys from cannons sounded. "
